Orthodox Witness is an Orthodox Christian organization dedicated to Orthodox evangelism. Its goal is to bring together Orthodox clergy and laity from all Orthodox jurisdictions into a unified and coordinated effort to spread the truth of Orthodoxy, its mindset and way of life to all people in their locality through the use of modern means of communication, for the glory of the triune God and the exaltation of His Holy Orthodox Church.
“The kairos, the appointed time, is ripe. Let us organize ourselves for the sacred mission of the evangelism of our communities at large, acting as a unified body, as the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.”
- Fr. Emmanuel Hatzidakis, June 19, 1998
“Our intention is to make the Gospel of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ known and embraced by more and more people in this land to which God has called us... On the regional and local level, we could speak of the projects and endeavors that parish clergy and lay people of all of the Orthodox dioceses, have undertaken to manifest visibly the mission and unity of our Church.”
This is the mandate of Orthodox Witness.
Local outreach is our immediate mission. Between 2002-2007, high-profile Orthodox Christian speakers were invited to speak to the St. Louis, Missouri community about topics on Orthodox Christianity.
